Obituary Alvin Fauntleroy was born March 22, 1954, in Manhattan New York. He was one of six children born to Gertrude Fauntleroy. Alvin went to school in East New York. He started working at a young age. He earned money, shining peoples shoes. He was so eager to give his earning to mom. He held various other jobs. Among them was a cook, which he loved to do. Alvin loved family and friends he was always willing to give a helping hand. Alvin accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was Baptize when he went to church with Herman and Mary at Elim Church. Like many Christians, Alvin had a wobbly walk with the Lord. He was not living the abundant life, which was promised to us when Jesus said, "I tell you these things, that you might know that ye have eternal life. I am come that they might have life, and have it more abundantly". Nevertheless, the fact that we miss the abundant quality of eternal life in this world, does not exclude us from being with the Lord in the life to come. Alvin loved swimming, basketball and handball. He was ambidextrous, which made him quite good at various sports and able to write with both hands. Alvin Fauntleroy departed this life March 4, 2013 at Kings County Hospital. He leaves to mourn, his wife Elizabeth Fauntleroy, his son Jemall Fauntleroy, his mother Gertude Fauntleroy, two brothers Naeem Salim and Ronald Fauntleroy, two sisters Nonnie Fauntleroy and Mary Parks, one brother in law, one sister in law, nieces and nephews, grand children, and a host of relatives and friends. Respectfully submitted by the family. ************************************ back page He Hideth My Soul A wonderful Savior is Jesus my Lord, A wonderful Savior to me, He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock, where Rivers of pleasure I see. A wonderful Savior is Jesus my Lord, He taketh my Burden away, He holdeth me up, and I shall not be moved, He giveth me strength as my day. With numberless blessings each moment He crowns, And filled with His Fullness divine, I sing in my rapture, oh. glory to God. For Such a Redeemer as mine! When clothed in His brightness, transported I rise. To meet His in Clouds of the sky, His perfect salvation, His wonderful love, I’ll Shout with the millions on high. Chorus He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock That shadows a dry, thirsty land; He hideth my life in the depths of His love. And covers me there with His hand, And covers me there with His hand.
